Going Out Again?

On July 4th both The Bell and Crown in Zeals and Bourton’s The White Lion will be opening.

Our advice is to check out their websites / social media feeds to confirm their opening times and particular arrangements before you go.

The Bell and Crown, Zeals

The Bell and Crown are now taking online table reservations from 4th July onwards. They’ll start taking reservations over the phone on Wednesday 1st July, when the rest of the gang gets back to work. From this date they will be open for drinks and food. You can get the latest posts from their Facebook page here.

The phone number to use is 01747 840404

They’ll start taking reservations over the phone on Wednesday 1st July, when the rest of the gang gets back to work.

They’re strictly adhering to the government advice issued, and as a result having to limit the number of guests we can welcome. They’re not taking reservations for those of you who’d like to pop in for a drink, but as a result cannot guarantee that there will be a table available. They’re sorry in advance if they can’t squeeze you in.

The team there are super conscious that they get this right, and are also aware that they’re going to be one of the area’s first pubs to open. They promise to do everything they can to welcome you responsibly, and their team will be trained to follow the rules.

They have shared ‘how they are doing things in the new normal’, together with their COVID-19 risk assessment with their customers via their website.

We’re so excited to see you all again. And thank you for your support and understanding so far. Just please bear with us whilst we get to grips with pandemic pub life ❤️

The phone number to use is 01747 840866

They have followed the guidelines and space in the pub will be limited. but regardless, they hope that their visitors will still be aable to enjoy this unique village pub. They have made a plea to please respect their staff as they move forward

Some new rules.!!!! Sadly for the time being dogs will only be aloud in the garden on leads, and the pub will close at 9.30pm daily for full pub cleaning. Guests will also need to register on each visit at the front door.

Following the success of the Bell & Crown at Zeals transforming themselves overnight into an amaizing community centred Pie Shop – #pieitforward , they still recognise that being closed at the moment is the best thing they can do. ”We want this to blow over and we want people to stay safe and well. We also want people to enjoy a break from the monotony of home cooking”

La Chasse helps local community and reduces minimum order value.

Based on the Wiltshire/Dorset border, La Chasse is a specialty food distribution business with years of experience in the food industry. Normally, La Chasse provides fantastic, locally produced must-haves and high quality ingredients to the wholesale trade; including pubs, hotels and restaurants. However, as a result of Coronavirus, they’re now one of many local businesses that have taken on a new community focussed outlook.

La Chasse now offer an extensive list of products to the public

This refocus from wholesale to providing products directly to the public has enabled
La Chasse not only to help provide a much needed service to the local community during unprecedented times, but it also means that the business can continue to look after their dedicated workforce, whist supporting their own wide range of suppliers.

To make it more accessible to the local community, La Chasse have recently taken the decision to :

  • reduce the minimum order to £40.00, dependent on location,
  • include free delivery to your door, dependent on location,
  • offer 10% off on orders over £80.00

With their distinctive branded fleet of chilled vehicles, which you’ve probably seen around, La Chasse are now offering a wide range of products to the public. The full list of products (currently spanning 18 pages) is available on www.lachasselimited.co.uk . However do bear in mind that La Chasse is not a supermarket, and the products may well be more geared to wholesale caterers in terms of packing size, quantity and type, however they will be constantly updating their range as time passes.

We would be grateful if you can share this with your friends who may not have access to the internet. For the current list of other local services we are aware of, please click here.
